Health, safety and environment

This is the one commitment with no trade-off attached to it. No programme date, cost saving or client request outranks the safety of the people working on a site.

Safety Is Not a Line Item Open to Negotiation

Every working site is a temporary environment with risks of its own. Our own teams and every contractor we work with are held to the same rules, the same training and the same authority to stop work — because falling behind a programme can be recovered from and someone being harmed cannot.

Our commitments

Everyone on Site, Same Standard

Our own teams and every contractor we work with operate under the same rules. A work package is not an exemption from the safety regime.

Contractor oversightOne standard

Trained Before Starting

Induction and task-specific training before work begins, with competence for high-risk activities verified rather than assumed.

Authority to Stop Work

Anyone on site may stop work they believe is unsafe, without needing to justify it first and without consequence for having done so.

Stop-work authorityNo reprisal

Incidents Investigated, Not Filed

Incidents and near misses are recorded, traced back to root cause, and the finding changes the method. A report that changes nothing is not an investigation.

Root-cause analysisIncident recording

A site that is behind schedule is a problem. A site that is unsafe is not a problem to be balanced against it.
