A building's environmental cost is mostly settled at design stage and paid across its whole life. We treat it as an engineering and economic question rather than a marketing one.
Sustainability Is a Running-cost Decision, Not a Badge
Most of a building's energy, water and maintenance cost is set at the design table before any work begins, and is then paid for decades by everyone who lives or works in it. We make specification decisions on that basis — to lower the bill, not to market it.
Our commitments
Designed for Operating Cost
Envelope, orientation, glazing and services are specified against the energy the building will use over decades, which is also what makes it cheaper to hold.
Responsible Material Sourcing
Preference for materials with documented origin and lower embodied impact, and for suppliers who can evidence both.
Water and Site Management
Drainage, run-off and water use are planned as part of the design, alongside the working rules that keep dust, excavation and discharge under control.
Construction Waste Reduction
Waste segregated and diverted from landfill where routes exist, and quantities tracked so reduction is measurable rather than asserted.
We do not claim a building is green because of a certificate. We would rather show what it costs to run.
